Israeli olive oil

Our story begins around 1937 when our grandfather Menachem was born in Holland. During WW2 Menachem and his family were hidden by the good people of Venendahl and once the war was over, they were lucky enough to unite again as a family, follow their dream and make Aliaa to Israel.

Menachem learned Agriculture in the Hebrew University, was one of the pioneers of modern agriculture, took part in the development of the dripping solution that is so common until today and established Hishtil Yamit.

Where Agriculture took a big part of Menachem’s heart and attention, he also kept a warm place to his 3 daughters – Noa, Naama and Einat and mostly to his beloved wife – Zipke. Menachem and Zipke had a wonderful and quite unique relationship, full of love, appreciation and mutual interest. In the memory of their love we decided to name our Olive Oil – Zipke.

One of Menachem’s dreams was to own an olive grove. The idea of having a piece of land in Israel, that will flourish and yield was a closure of another cycle for the little boy, who until the age of 6 was hidden in a closet with his parents and survived the terrible Holocaust times. Menachem managed to buy the land and to design the olive grove before he died at 1982 at a very young age.

It was Zipke who brought Menachem’s dream to live – she planted the right species and cultivated the grove with care. Zipke and Menachem’s love is part of our every day’s life and is well translated into the beauty of the land and the quality of the olive oil it now produces.

Our beloved Grandma Zipke died in 1999 and left 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren, she didn’t manage to meet 2 additional grandchildren, who joined the family at a later stage.

Today the olive grove is managed by the Naama and her daughter – Adi, Inbal & Amit, in memory of our beloved and forward thinker Grandpa Menachem and his true love Grandma Zipke
